Beyond Censorship

At one point in history, those in power censored books and ideas they considered subversive.

Eventually they discovered something more effective:

freely distribute the subversive books—and also provide sitcoms, celebrity gossip, and amusing memes.

It turns out distraction scales better than censorship.
