Yes, I have been stupidly busy and remiss in making our regular appointments. Alarm at 6 (3 west coast time) and asleep about 1 or later - working all but about a couple of hours in there. I crave exercise, sleep, and my own bed. More postings will come. I head home tonight.

G@H,
Hello to you as well. Bernard said that he is so much more emotionally volatile since he had the elevator installed.

servidores,
welcome to R World and thanks. This stopped me in my tracks, "Existential angst gives your reasoning a different edge than contentment; anger makes a different route for reason than curiosity. It’s why so often drama changes minds more than arguments." I need to think about that and then I can consider the game of life.

On lighter subjects, I tagged you this morning for a meme. It had a canvas flap for a door. I was sitting on the bed meditating and a cat wandered in and plopped down on my lap. I took the cat and tossed it out the door. Ten seconds later it was back on my lap. We got into a sort of dance, this cat and I...I tossed it out because I was trying to meditate, to get enlightened. But the cat kept returning. I was getting more and more irritated, more and more annoyed with the persistence of the cat. Finally, after about a half-hour of this coming and tossing out, I had to surrender. There was nothing else to do. There was no way to block the door. I sat there, the cat came back in and got on my lap. But I did not do anything. I just let go. Thirty seconds later the cat got up and walked out. So you seem our teachers come in many forms.
~Joseph Goldstein

Perhaps this is what Bernard was getting at. All of us just need to let the cat sit in our laps for awhile.ccehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05867069792357056649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32914592.post-72779228983774689972008-03-17T03:32:00.000-07:002008-03-17T03:32:00.000-07:00Bernard's musings make me feel like checking in to...Bernard's musings make me feel like checking in to the nearest Ashram and letting all this societal pretense melt away but then there is the breakfast to fix and the lunch bags to fill and piano lessons for the children and the bills to pay.
Perhaps when we turn 80 we all get the chance to feel enlightened thought I think it's probably a privileged state of mind. If you see my post today you'll get what I mean. I think my Gladys needs to sit down with your Bernard and soon.ccehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05867069792357056649noreply@blogger.com
