The Rate At Which the US is Creating New Millionaires and Billionaires

Over the last few years, every HOUR the US creates about 50 new millionaires and
5 new decamillionaires (households with a net worth of $10 million.)

And yes, the American economy is serving up millionaires - just like Denny's serving up meals - 24 hours a day.

It takes the US economy about 3 days to produce a new billionaire.

New Bankruptcies (Personal & Business) occur at the rate of about 69 every hour, or more than one per minute.
So every hour, the economy creates roughly

• 50 new millionaires, and
• 69 new bankruptcies

Whether you think this is the greatest economy on earth or the worst must depend on which way the coin flips for you. And the coin lands "bankrupt!" more often than it does "millionaire!"
