A recent poll suggests that nearly one-in-four Republicans believe that Obama is the anti-Christ.
Next time you're with four or five of your Republican friends, when there is a lull in the conversation, lean in conspiratorially and ask, "Okay. Which one of you knows that Obama is the anti-Christ? And why?"
What ensues ought to be more interesting than whatever else you were talking about. Like non-standard uniforms, for instance.

Ron,
What's your opinion on this poll? Do you think this reflects a true picture of how many Republicans think Obama is the Anti-Christ?
So, no response, can't say I'm surprised. I wonder what you are trying to do with this blog. Just trying to be clever? Trying to be a shill for Liberal perspectives?
The problem with this kind of post is that it just perpetuates myths and discredits anyone who passes these things along without thinking about the validity of the claims (including a good part of the media). My first reaction to your post was that it really doesn't seem like it's even close to reality and was probably put out to continue to try to discredit the pushback this administration is getting.
Ten seconds of search brought me to an article by ABC polling expert Gary Langer. Surprisingly, he doesn't have much positive to say about how this poll was conducted from start to finish.
He talks about how the sampling is flawed, how the questions are formed and asked to get a skewed result. For example, the survey results of this nonsense also include that 57 percent (according Harris Interactive's approach) think Obama's a Mulsim. Two separate Pew polls indicate that 17% think he's a Muslim. I wonder what the difference is? It's actually realtively simple to see how one could skew these results if one was so inclined. Hmm, I'd hate to bore you with any additional details of why the survey is garbage, since you probably are smart enough to have figured that out on your own if you had any desire to really understand what you were cutting and pasting on your site.
Anon,
I find it odd to defend my reluctance to spend a great deal of time debating topics with an anonymous reader. This blog is one place I can write what I want when I can and when I have to choose between responding to comments or writing a post, I chose the latter. This kind of back and forth might be fun in a conversation but I'm not sure how or where it would end if I responded to each of your comments - or towards what end. Most of my family, friends, and co-workers seem to share your political convictions so I have no illusions about persuading you to believe anything differently - nor should you think that I live removed from views like yours. This was a real poll - and you might be as unhappy with it as Obama supporters were with the polls indicating that the American people were less than thrilled with his health plan, but I didn't make it up. If I thought you wanted real clarification of one point or two in a post, I'd respond. If I think that I have to choose between spending my blog time allowance on a back and forth that doesn't end, doesn't change anyone's mind, and doesn't leave me time to write anything new ... well, it's a simple choice.
No worries Ron, I won't waste any more of your time. I find I can debate with others on blog sites without creating a handle. Hiding behind the fact that it was a real poll is pretty lame when everyone would seem to know that any poll might be complete nonsense depending on how it was done. Not understanding what's behind the poll is like spreading a rumor. Kind of like the political oponnent who stands up and says "there's a rumor that my opponent is a pedophile, I don't think it's appropriate to spread rumors". Saying "it a real poll", allows people to throw things out there with no responsibility for what's thrown. I wasn't expecting you to spend a great deal of time, my initial questions were pretty short and consise. Answers would seem to be quick as well. Enjoy you blogging.
Hahah. Just for clarification, Ron, I have met at least one such Republican who "firmly believes" Obama is the anti-Christ...
Hilarious.
