Let's see if I have this straight. Today the House Republicans are voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act legislation. For the 33rd time.
As legislation, this is irrelevant. Their bill - like its 32 previous versions - will never pass the Senate.
As a clarification of their position, this is redundant. There is probably no political fact more obvious to Americans than Republicans's opposition to health care coverage.
This from the party that explains that they'll cut the deficit by eliminating government waste.
And yet the Republican Party wins on two counts by blowing off actual accomplishment in favor of political theater. One, the worse the economy, the better the prospects for Romney. Two, the more disgusted people are with government, the more likely they are to vote for them, the anti-government party. It's evil genius but it's still genius.
